Mrs. Colorado United States

I will be making a few appearances helping some of our young ladies with weight problems. I am not sure if you know or not, but after our second son was born I had a hard time losing the weight. It took me until he was 8 to understand that it was not baby weight and I needed to get on the ball. From that I started working out and I went back to weight watchers. I am now a current lifetime member and weight in about every week. I lost about 65 lbs over about 1 year and have managed to keep it off for the past 4 years. It does take working out and watching my diet and I do float up and down. I went from a size 12/ 14 to a size 2/4.

I want to get the message out to the young girls that there are so many sports out there for girls that can help your fitness level and help you control your weight. It is also OK for girls to have muscles. I have heard girls say that they are afraid of looking like a boy if the lift weights. I hope to be able to make a difference in these girls minds that being fit is a good thing. With the numbers of overweight children and the amount of children who have adult diseases now because of their weight.

As a mom I also know it is hard to control what your children eat once they are outside the home. I am hopeful that I can impact them to make good choices as well.

If anyone has any tips they would like to share I would love it!!!

Best Wishes and God Bless!
Christine

Ok. I think I did something wrong. Anyhoo, you look just as fabulous as ever. I've had a chance to speka to young girls and I tell them to use the "so what" theory. If you are healthy and happy, you have to say "so what" when someone says something negative - this includes parents, siblings, boys, etc.
